No, We're Not Pregnant! But I'd Love to Throw a Baby Shower Like This Some Day!

I'm not going to lie--Pinterest is DANGEROUS for rumors amongst friends and family! I had started a board called "If and When We Ever Have Kids," and later that day a sorority sister texted me asking me if Adam and I were pregnant! Uh oh! LOL! Well, here's my feelings on the whole pinning obsession: it's where our day dreaming is exposed for the world to see and be inspired by.

When I was a little girl, I used to day dream of the perfect man, the perfect house, the perfect family, the perfect wardrobe, etc. I NEVER thought that I would ever get that perfect life, but I was damn sure that I would look forward to finding out just what life I COULD expect to live. It's exciting! Daydreaming is completely harmless!

Pinterest seems to have become the place where many women, like myself, go to experience these day dreams we have and put them out there for others to see. Although Adam and I would like a family some day, we feel that we are in no way ready to be parents. I repeat: we are NOT pregnant, nor are we trying. So why do I post maternity photos, pregnancy articles, nursery ideas, children's activities, etc? 

Because it's fun to day dream about!

With that being said, I have been day dreaming a lot about baby showers lately!
