Discovering Old Photos!

I totally stumbled across these the other day when I was doing some early Spring cleaning!
What I love about this bunch is that it had so many from Adam's photos! He was such a cutie!

Lately, I have been noticing our tutorials and projects being showcased on other blogs. Some of them I have initiated, and then there are a bunch that I didn't even know about until someone brought it to my attention!

The other day, for instance, my damask wall art tutorial was featured on Remodelaholic! I was so honored that she chose my project! Can you imagine how many tutorials are out there on Blogger and other blogging sites? I really can't. It's amazing to me that others see my creativity as something that is special, when really, I think it's special only because it is something I have made on my own and for my own home.

DIY Floral Stock Wall Art

Ever have extra floral stock for your bouquets? I looked over at the empty, leftover canvas I bought a few months ago and thought "hmm, maybe I can glue the stock to the canvas to make wall art.."

It looks BEAUTIFUL! It was seriously so simple! All you need is a hot glue gun and some vision!

Our Valentine's Day

So Adam sprang my Valentine's Day surprises on me on Saturday night...yesterday, I baked his surprise cake! Ever heard of Doctor Who? Yeah, well it's Adam's favorite show. I decided since we didn't have a lot of money to spend on each other this year for a special date, that I could handcraft him a Doctor Who cake! What better way to show your love for your husband than to spend 5 hours combined of cooking and decorating than to make a tardis cake?!

Oh, and a special shout out is needed for our dear friend, Michelle, who spent hours with me dying the fondant and shaping the pieces! Thanks girl!

Our Slow Cooker Journey!

I FINALLY dug out our slow cooker from storage tonight, and made myself a promise that I would aim to use it at least once a week!!!

Trouble is: I don't know anything about a crock pot/slow cooker (other than...well, it cooks things slowly?) Ha! But seriously, I had no idea when I googled "Slow Cooker Recipes" what I had gotten myself into. Being overwhelmed with thousands of hits within a few seconds, 

I decided to jump to my next favorite search engine: PINTEREST!

Yup! I was on Pinterest, and the first search item that popped up
was a link to this woman's blog:

She made a different recipe for her crock pot LITERALLY every day of the year. How incredible is that?! Great, so now I can choose out of 365 recipes

(and not more like 365,000 recipes!)

So thank you, Stephanie! I am looking forward to experimenting with our

slow cooker for the first time!

Valentine's Day on a Budget

Sorry it's been a while since I have posted on here! As some of you may know already, I have been in Arizona for work for Cathy Lee Photography! There are a whole bunch of preview photos up from the work I did while I was out there if you want to check it out. In fact, here's one of some details from the wedding!

But that's besides the point!

Can you believe it's already February?! I can't! I realized that Valentine's Day is upon us. Given the fact that Adam is a huge romantic, I'm sure he's expecting me to do something special for him that day. Every year, regardless of our budget, we find a way to make V-Day special for one another. When we lived apart, I would send him care packages and one year I sent him on a scavenger hunt and I was at the other end! He loved that!

So you may be wondering, "what are you going to do, Cathy?" Well, I have a few ideas. Lately, we have been watching a lot of Doctor Who...Adam is LOVING that I'm finally getting into it so I thought I could do something related to DW. I have also been thinking of some adorable, delicious treats I could make for him! There are some really great ideas on Pinterest, and I wanted to share some of my findings on here! Enjoy!
